In 2018, Mohamed Osman Omar was arrested for allegedly defrauding the NDIS National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

Today he was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to defrauding the NDIS of more than $370,000, and attempting to obtain another $85,000. Mr Omar made 392 requests for payment from the NDIS for services that he did not provide. Instead, he used the funds to purchase luxury items, including two motor vehicles.

Anyone who is aware of fraud being committed against the NDIS should contact the NDIS fraud hotline on 1800 650 717.
